There are foodies.. and then there are food-a-holics (the latter of which I proudly belong). You'll find me scarfing a big mac one night and a frisee salad with tuna tartar the next.

Lola Tapas & Wine Bar
HOBOKEN, NJ
Start with the high points.. Service was excellent if not a little overwhelming. My glass of sangria was never more than half empty, waitress took time to describe a few meals. The decor is ok, if not a little on the cheesy side. I felt a little like I was in a Spanish TGIFridays. The food was only average. Everything was well prepared and arrived in timely fashion. Apparently the "volcano" dishes are what everyone goes for. All-in-all it's a nice break from usual burger and fries in town, but as far as Tapas (and Spanish Cuisine) it wasn't the best I've had. Cascata
NEW YORK, NY
This place is a gem It's not fancy or particularly memorable but the service is always great, and the food is simply well prepared, very tasty and reasonably priced. I've eaten here about a half a dozen times. Brunch is hard to beat (although the selection is light) and the outdoor seating is quaint and cozy in nice weather. It's also clean and looks like it's a well taken care of place (unlike a lot of little italian joints in the neighborhood). Reviewed on 02/15/2008

Hudson Tavern
HOBOKEN, NJ
Nice bar, good food Been here twice as it is literally stumbling distance from the front door of my building. Service has been top notch both times. Food has been tasty and well prepared. All in all a very good spot and welcome addition to the uptown scene. Reviewed on 02/14/2008
