Though it cannot be called a tawny port legally (since it is not from Portugal), this Australian dessert wine is crafted in the traditional version of the port.
From the Madeira islands of Portugal, the wine is fortified by tinta Negra mole grapes. It is called rainwater Madeira as a result of the hillsides that could not be irrigated and thrived on rain for water.
