ingredients: flour, sugar, salt, lard, water, starter and yeast. we were forced into the cuban bread-making business, when the only cuban bakery in town closed suddenly this past summer. cuban bread is a unique product only found in tampa, miami and key west. it makes great sandwiches, but it goes stale very quickly. that's why it's the only bread we bake 7 days a week. our traditional cuban bread recipe has earned a spot on the table of the best cuban restaurants in key west. we use it as the basis for our cuban mix sandwich and cheese toast.
