Fried Shrimp has been a staple on our menu since the beginning. Our goal has always been to prepare the best shrimp in the city and the results speak for themselves. Large, Gulf of Mexico White Shrimp coated in our homemade batter and tossed in fresh bread crumbs is a tradition that has been going strong since 1950. We recommend you take a bite and enjoy our cherished legacy.
In the early 20th century when the fishing industry was booming in the Great Lakes. Fishermen would return from the rough waters of Lake Michigan to port and filet their daily catch to sell. The scraps of fish left behind were promptly doused in batter and fried in hot grease for the fishermen to enjoy. This tradition was the inspiration behind one of our original menu items, Fish Chips, chunks of lightly battered Icelandic Cod that we toss in breadcrumbs and deep fry on the spot. FRENCH FRIES ARE NOT INCLUDED neither are they necessary but we do recommend some Tartar or Cocktail sauce to go with it.
