River Bottom Roasters
In Indonesia lies a hidden jewel, the island of Bali. The eruption of the Gunung Agung volcano in 1963 caused a delay in the progress of modern-day coffee cultivation on Bali. In response to this situation, the government enacted programs to help rejuvenate coffee production. With the distribution of coffee seedlings to local farmers, an island wide coffee growing campaign began. Today, the coffee growing area in bali is an estimated 7,500 hectares. The use of pesticides is prohibited, and all fertilizers are 100% organic. The promotion of improved coffee growing practices is expected to enhance not only agricultural technology but social and economic standing in Bali as well. This rain forest alliance certified coffee offering brings notes of chocolate milano while hinting at the earthiness of an Indonesian rain forest. Whether you crave the decadence of a naturally sweet and robust cup of coffee, or you’re trying to win a non-coffee drinker over to the dark side, you can’t go wrong with this one.
A small group of members from the ketiara cooperative lives in the highlands on the island of Sumatra. Many of these producers are women who unfortunately lost their husbands in the 2003 civil war. They have persevered in a male-dominated industry to produce this bold cupping coffee. Many of the growers also produce orange, chili, avocado, banana, ginger, lemongrass, and honey. The farmers in the adsenia villages continue producing this unique variety so that they can support the many widows and children and provide for their future. Along with the deep full body of this cup, the sweet notes of Sumatra are dark and rich. This fresh crop of fair trade beans has all the characteristics you would expect low acid, flashes of bitter with sweet, bourbon-like complexity, herbal notes, spice, smooth, rich, great lingering aftertaste.
Can’t decide. Don’t worry sometimes, we can’t either. That’s why we’ve put together this special option. Every month, we pick 3 of our artisan roasts we just can’t get enough of and package them together in the finest lookin' 8 oz. bags you’ve ever seen 24 oz. total. For real it’s ridiculously amazing.
If you have never had a natural processed coffee you are seriously in for a treat. This is a light/medium roast with a lighter body but it has intense juicy sweetness, and clean aftertaste. The taste of strawberry is on the forefront and is followed with a hint of milk chocolate and cinnamon. Can you ask for anything more. Our Ethiopian natural is from one of the most famous and highly regarded mills in Ethiopia. Established in 1999, the oromia coffee farmers cooperative union has quickly become the largest fair trade coffee producer in ethiopia. The ocfcu was formed when 23,691 members of 35 small cooperatives came together with the goal of exporting their coffee directly to the specialty market. All six of their oromia highland coffee varieties yirgacheffe, Sidamo, limu, lekemptl, Jima, & Harrar) are grown by indigenous farmers in the southwestern rainforests of Ethiopia. Oromia’s coffee is heirloom, forest-grown, & organic. This bean makes a killer selection for hot, iced, or cold brew coffee as well.

This medium roast and body coffee hail from the Afro-Colombian mountain farms. My roast techniques try to capture the natural flavors of brown sugar, citrus and chocolate. We are proud to offer this coffee as our friend in Colombian is creating new relationships with these mountain farmers to elevate their community. Creating export channels for remote mountain farmers is no easy task, but when the coffee is this good it's worth every bit.
This is our first direct trade bean with a coffee farmer! I met the Hernandez family and they are so wonderful and we are grateful to have this new partnership. For decades they have been at the mercy of the el Salvadorian state and only getting .90 an lb. we are able to increase their price by almost 4 times which will greatly enhance their family and community. I even had the chance to roast with the family at my shop. This coffee has a soft, creamy, nutty flavor which I pair with an African bean to enhance the body. This pairing brings a cup-like you having the best peanut butter and jelly sandwich of your life. Enjoy.
I blended this espresso to accentuate all the attributes you would want from a perfect shot. My goal was to balance the crema with berry sweetness and notes of chocolate. Dare I say. chocolate covered strawberries.
This is the mountain water process MWP decaf and its great! Notes of milk chocolate and brown sugar. This coffee coop was originally formed to collectively make agronomic and economic decisions and expanded their goals to include protecting the environment and helping communities and their families to develop and progress. They continue to work towards the sustainability of their crops and development for the future by maintaining the organic and fair trade certifications.
