Steel Bender Brewyard
A New Mexican IPA that boasts orange zest and fresh pine aromas. A pale malt base gives way to a long pine and citrus finish. Always chasing that orange-pine balance, hops may vary.7% ABV | 80 IBU
Brewed in the American style, this light lager is brewed with New Mexico Pilsner and Vienna malts, and New Mexico blue corn that was roasted and milled for us by Albuquerque’s own Southwest Heritage Mill. We throw in a few Crystal hops in there as well for balance. Compa is simultaneously malty and easy drinking.5.7% ABV | 20 IBU
A light and dry easy-drinking Kolsch-style ale brewed with German pilsner malt and German hops fermented cool resulting in a clean, refreshing brew with an herbal, lemon hop character.5% ABV | 25 IBU
Styrian Wolf, Styrian Dragon, Citra, and Cashmere convey abundant hoppiness over a silky smooth malt base in our house hazy IPA. Restrained bitterness does not interfere with the juicy goodness. Brewed with two-row, dextrin and acidulated malts, rolled oats, and raw wheat, and fermented with an English yeast strain, the esters and hop aromas put on a show.6.3% ABV | 50 IBU
Our popular house kettle sour is brewed with a wheat heavy grain bill, which we run off and kettle sour before boiling with lactose, a milk sugar. We then add a ridiculous quantity of pure raspberry puree to the fermentation and let it all bubble until the flavors develop and the yeast is finished. The result is a fantastically fruit-forward brew with a raspberry aroma, striking appearance, and a refreshingly sweet/tart finish. We have fun with this one! 5.8% ABV | 5 IBU
A red American IPA with classic C hop aroma. Bready and toffee notes balance the fruity hops with a touch of roast and a medium full body. 8% ABV | 60 IBU
An amber ale in the English tradition. Sparkfitter Amber balances bready malts, earthy hops, and fruity yeast to achieve a classic, pub-style bitter. This latest batch is a bit sparkier at 6.8% ABV! 6.8% ABV | 30 IBU
An American take on an Irish classic. This dry stout is full of cocoa and roast with notes of dates and dark fruit. Brewed to session strength with drinkability in spades. Served on Nitro.6% ABV | 40 IBU
The combination of soft wheat, spicy yeast, orange, and coriander in this twist on a classic style are tied together by the special complexity that can be achieved only with re-fermentation in the can. By adding yeast and sugar prior to packaging (can conditioning), we initiated a second fermentation that resulted in a refreshingly fine, prickly carbonation and authentic flavor. One of our brewers’ faves. Available in cans only. 5% ABV | 15 IBU
Tropical notes of mango, orange, and pineapple dominate the nose with hints of dank herb in the background. This hazy Extra Pale Ale brewed with Strata and Idaho 7 hops is dripping with all of the aromas and flavors of a hazy IPA without the burn. Brewed with Pilsner malt, unmalted wheat, and rolled oats, this light and dry sipper has got a little extra in all the ways that count. 7.1% ABV | 40 IBU
Double the Raspberry! Double the Lactose! Double the DYNAMITE! We boosted up the grain bill for a bit more of a punch and followed up with more souring, more lactose to sweeten it up, vanilla bean for even more guilty pleasure, and most importantly twice the raspberry. Fruity, creamy, rich, and packs a Bada Big Boom with 8.1% ABV. 8.1% ABV | 5 IBU
Combining all the malty bits of a brown ale with the hoppy bits of an IPA, Paint The Town is the best of both worlds. Subtle chocolate and malty notes with a definite grapefruit presence on the nose follow through on the palate. A bit of sweetness up front is balanced by the generous hop additions of Comet, Columbus, Cascade, and Nelson. A well balanced mashup that’s supremely easy going down. 6.7% ABV | 70 IBU
Our summer seasonal DYNAMITE is back! Peach DYNAMITE features that favorite summer fruit on a sweet tart base. We brewed this quencher with lots of wheat and added lactose sugar to the kettle to keep it on the sweet side. During fermentation, we added as much peach puree as we could fit in the tank to bring you this peachy keen delight. 5.3% ABV | 50 IBU
This easy drinking crusher will keep your golf swing smooth and your thirst quenched on the links. Swing Lube XPA has all the great citrus and pine that you want in a big IPA without leaving you weighed down. Brewed with two-row and a touch of light crystal malt, we kept the bitterness at bay by adding all the hops late in the brew. Strong enough to keep you satisfied and light enough for hot and sunny days on the course. 7.2% ABV | 50 IBU
Big E IPA is back and even bigger. You asked us to brew it again, so we did...but this time, this West Coast DIPA fires on all cylinders at DIPA strength with Columbus, Citra, Mosaic, and loads of Nelson Sauvin in the kettle to juice up this straightforward grain bill of two-row, Munich, and Dextrin malts. To further the madness, we hopped it up in the fermenter with more Citra and even more Nelson. And then we canned it! Boasting aromas of ripe orange peel, fresh pine cone, and white grape, the experience continues through the sip toward a crisp, bitter finish with lingering hops. Super dry and easy drinking despite the respectable potency. 8.4% ABV | 80 IBU
A simple grist made up of Pilsner and Wheat malts lays the base for this Summer quencher. We hopped it up with Lemondrop and Citra for a lovely, grassy melon and lemon zest aroma to support the crisp and dry wheat heavy ale underneath. Fermented cool and slow. 6% ABV | 40 IBU
The Judy began as a Saison brewed with rose hips, lemongrass, and lemon verbena, and was fermented with our house Belgian yeast. We then aged it for a year in a Chardonnay barrel with fresh local peaches and a mix of Brett cultures. Effervescent, spunky, and dry, with beautifully balanced peach. citrus, and Brett bursting out of the glass with the help of prickly carbonation. Also available bottle-conditioned (375mL | 750mL). 6.5% ABV | 5 IBU
Sometimes it’s good to get back to basics, so that’s just what we did! This kettle-soured Gose is flavored with salt and coriander and is the style that our DYNAMITE series is based upon. We omitted all the fruit and lactose on this batch to let the underlying qualities shine on on their own. Decidedly tart, Good Gose finishes with enough salt and coriander to be present without overwhelming. 5.8% ABV | 5 IBU
Coming in at almost 12% and drinking deceptively smooth, this Belgian-Style Quad boasts fruity yeast esters that mingle with rose-like alcohol and malt sweetness on the nose, leading to a silky mouthfeel, and a gentle warming finish. Bottle-conditioned for all of the extra flavor and mouthfeel that only bottle refermentation can provide. Also available in draught. 11.7% ABV | 40 IBU

A mix of expressive yeast character and American hops combine to create a simultaneously dry and potent elixir that screams out to be enjoyed. This Idiot iteration is built on a simple grist of New Mexico grown two-row and Munich malts, unmalted wheat, and acidulated malt and is full of peppery yeast notes & citrus hop tones coming from the addition of Colorado grown Comet hops. Has been shown to alleviate cabin fever (individual results may vary). 7.2% ABV | 40 IBU
What started as a mild-mannered Irish Red Ale, has become a wildly complex,barrel-aged beauty! This beer spent 13 months in barrels with our house bugs, 11 of those months on top of local Los Ranchos Cherries. Pours a brilliant red with a rocky, off-white head. Sour cherry greets the nose with a good amount of wild funk and oak. Beautifully balanced fruit and barrel character with a fine bead, medium carbonation and a tart finish. 7% ABV | 5 IBU
The base beer for this sour was one of the first to go through our brewhouse nearly three years ago. We let this one sit for over a year in a single brandy barrel with before we added seventy five pounds of whole apricots sourced from the Village of Los Ranchos. After another year and a little we bottled it up and let it condition for an additional five months. It was well worth the wait! This Old Apricot pours a light copper and has barrel character in spades. Sour and oaky notes dominate with a delightfully floral, fruit counterpoint. 7.3% ABV | 5 IBU
The inspiration for this barrel aged, Brett conditioned Dubbel aged on local Los Ranchos cherries came from the classic cocktail that, when made perfect, contains equal parts sweet and dry Vermouth. Aromas of Tawny Port, almonds, bourbon, dried fruit, and funk combine with a gentle warming to provide a perfect pour. 9.1% ABV | 10 IBU
A barrel aged, dry hopped, Brettanomyces spiked Saison is best brewed with friends. In this case, our friends from Ex Novo Brewing joined us to collaborate on this very special bottle release. We began by brewing a Saison with hard, red, Colorado wheat then fermented it with the French Saison strain. It then underwent aging in barrels with two strains of Brettanomyces before being dry hopped with Southern Passion hops. Bottled and conditioned to traditional, very high, Saison carbonation levels, this beer will be fruity and hoppy now and will develop more funky, Brett character as it ages. 6.1% ABV | 30 IBU
Barley and wheat malts. Azacca, El Dorado, Elle, and Meridian hops. PERSEVERANCE. _x0003_And Brettanomyces. Cinderella Story is about squaring up to a challenge, keeping the prize in sight, and shrugging off the impossible. It’s a testament to never giving up. _x0003_Enjoy Cindy’s hop character now, and then put some away to check in on the Brett evolution. Whatever you tackle, do it with gusto. 6.25% ABV | 30 IBU
This bracingly tart take on a Flanders Style Sour has taken some time to bring about. A year in barrels with Brettanomyces, Lactobacillus, and Pediococcus brought about plenty of pucker with a long stay in bottles resulting in a fruity, farmyard funk to balance the acidity. One complex beer that was worth the wait. 8% ABV | 5 IBU
We released this single-hop sour featuring Wakatu hops at the Violet Crown Theater in Santa Fe for the release of Solo during the summer of 2018. It was such a hit, we brewed it again and set aside some of the batch to age it in tequila barrels, canned it, and let it condition for a fine carbonation and added complexity. Brimming with tequila, grassy, and tart lime character. 6% ABV | 20 IBU
A heritage cider pressed from apples harvested in the picturesque, historic town of Abiquiú in northern New Mexico. Although freezes and weather were challenging that spring (“A las frutas se ríe Dios,” the saying goes,“God laughs at fruit.“) the Manzanar Los Silvestres orchard had a bountiful harvest. Twelve apple varieties (plus two more from Abiquiú neighbors) made their way into our bins for pressing: bittersharps, bittersweets, sour crab, and other tarts. Fourteen varieties total. No small feat, from growing to harvesting to pressing to fermenting...but worth every step of the journey that’s captured inside every bottle. Crisp and dry with a delightfully tannic finish, and a beautiful showcase of the cider apples that went into the blend. 7.2% ABV
The name says it all. Our 2019 vintage is still 100% Los Ranchos apples, pressed, fermented, and bottled right here at Steel Bender Brewyard. Rustic aromas reminiscent of the orchard from whence it came, Los Ranchos Cider is dry, and full of complex fruit flavors and finishes with a delightfully spritzy carbonation. Keep it local y’all.6.4% ABV
A couple of years ago, we got a call wondering if we were interested in some stored apples for cider. Not wanting to pass up the opportunity, we pressed the apples and put the juice, and nothing but the juice directly into some recycled bourbon barrels. No yeast or any other additives helped in the long fermentation that followed in the oak. After a long rest in the barrels we bottled it up with some yeast and sugar and let it rest until the bubbles were born. We have been rewarded with a rustic and dry cider that tickles the funky bone. 6.4% ABV\
Steel Bender Cider is made with 100%, not-from-concentrate apple juice. We don't add any sulfites or sugar and let the juice and yeast shine. Intense apple flavor dominates with just a hint of strawberry and melon, compliments of the yeast! A semi-sweet finish rounds out the palette with a mild tannic dryness to leave you ready for the next.5% ABV
