Cold brewed
Thinly rolled leaves, bold, brisk morning tea. Smooth taste with hints of a semi-sweet aftertaste. This black tea stands up to the addition of milk.
Young tender shoots of the tea leaves and buds that are hand-rolled into "pearls," dried, blended with unopened night-blooming jasmine flowers and left over night for the blooms to open and release their aroma into the tea. Jasmine pearls can be steeped up to three times.
Hibiscus tea can help soothe the nerves, has diuretic properties, and helps lower and balance blood pressure. Has high levels of antioxidants and can help control appetite.
Chamomile tea can promote peaceful sleep, help ease cramping and pain in the bowels, and has shown anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral and anti-parasitic properties.
Refreshing, with an initial tart flavor and soft citrus finish. This tea blend has just the right tang and is great for children.
Mocha Java by Brooklyn Roasting Co. The Mocha Java blends dates from the 18th century, the world's original commercial coffee, is named after the Yemeni port of Mokha, or al-Mukh, where beans from across Eastern Africa were traded and exported. At that time Yemen controlled most of the trade moving between the Arab world and the Indian Ocean, and also received beans from Java. Inevitably, these two coffees came together to form the world's first blend. BRC's twist on this centuries-old classic combines a dark-roasted bean from Sumatra, a little further north along the Indonesian archipelago, with a washed heirloom Arabica from the mountains of Ethiopia, the birthplace of coffee.
Made with coarsely ground Cafe Du Monde dark roast coffee and chicory blend. Individually brewed with a small metal French drip filter into a cup already containing sweetened condensed milk. Stirred and served hot or poured over ice. The aroma of the chicory and coffee blend perfectly with the creamy sweetness of the condensed milk for a delicious pick me up.
Colombia Santa Barbara by Brooklyn Roasting Co. Santa Barbara Estate is located in the southwest section of the Department of Antioquia in northwest Colombia. This estate is described as integrated, which means that all stages of the production happen there and are carefully tracked by the farmers and workers, from producing seedlings through to harvesting and processing. Santa Barbara has expanded gradually, establishing a healthy and sustainable balance between sophisticated production and artisanal integrity. The near-constant temperature in the region (generally around 75-80F year round), high altitude (5,280 feet above sea level) and the nutrient-rich volcanic soil are ideal for growing the Castillo varietal of Arabica, a flavorful hybrid of the Caturra and Timor trees.
