Ott Bernhard Ott. The Ott family has been growing and producing wine in the region of Wagram in Lower Austria since 1889. Bernhard wanted to prove that elegant and long-lived wines could be produced from Grüner Veltliner grown on loess soil, specifically from Rosenberg vineyard. Bernhard replaced the old wooden casks with stainless steel and began working the vineyards with an aim for the highest high quality. Tasting Notes. Muller-Catoir. The name “Bürgergarten” is a reinterpretation of the old term “Bergergarten”, which refers to a garden situated on a hill. The very deep soil, which has been used for wine production for centuries, is composed of weathered yellow sandstone interspersed with layer of loess and clay. The special “Haardt sandstone” is still being produced today in the nearby quarry. Tasting Notes. This is a terrific example of Riesling relishing what I like to call 'hidden sweetness.' Chateau Guiot. From the Nîmes region at the foot of the Rhône appellation, Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault are grown on the unique rolling pebbles or 'grass' of Château Guiot. The colour is obtained by keeping the skins in contact with the juice before fermentation. Perfume, red berries, spice, summer berries and blossom aromas with an off-dry, medium weight of fruit, clean and mineral acidity and a vibrant sweet redcurrant finish. Tasting Notes.
